Doosan Group, a leading South Korean liquor company famous for its ``Cheo-um-cheo-rum (Like the First Time),’’ has launched the ``Gyeongwol Green Renewal’’ as part of efforts to boost exports to Japan, according to the firm Monday.
Doosan, which exported 5 million boxes of Gyeongwol Green soju (700ml X 12 bottles) to Japan last year, aims to increase the sales to over 5.5 million boxes this year, a company spokesman said.
Gyeongwol Green Renewal features two different types of proof _ 20 percent and 25 percent of alcohol _ in four different bottles including a 700 ml, 1.8 liter, 2.7 liter and 4 liter.
Using natural water from Mt. Seorak in Gwangwon Province, the new products are expected to live up to the consumer trend of Japan, where health is thought highly of even when it comes to alcohol consumption, the company said.
