Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) said Wednesday that its report on sustainable management was selected by the United Nations as ``one of the excellent reports’’ last year.
An initiative for sustainable and socially responsible business policies, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) has been choosing good works from all reports submitted by about 4,000 businesses around the world annually. In 2007, the UNGC picked a total of 57 reports.
About 100 South Korean enterprises have joined the UNGC and issued the sustainability reports so far. But it is the first time that a South Korean firm’s report has been selected as an ``excellent work,’’ according to the state-run power company.
