LG Electronics is trying to empower the image of its key products from mobile phones to plasma HDTVs by opening a specially-designed house in Malibu, California.
The floorspace of the 3,500 square feet, named ``LG House Malibu,’’ is fitted out with the colossal 71-inch plasma HDTV and dual-format Blu-ray Disc- HD DVD ``Super Blu’’ players while other appliances include an HDTV refrigerator with a 15-inch LCD screen in the door, as well as a full kitchen package, an LG official said.
``LG House Malibu provides a unique platform to showcase LG's premium product lines to influencers in a relaxed environment where they can see and enjoy the rich features of our products first-hand,’’ says Ehtisham Rabbani, vice president of marketing and strategic planning for LG mobile phones.
``We take a very hands-on approach to connecting with consumers and are continuously looking for new and innovative ways to demonstrate the quality of our products,’’ he added.
LG said Universal Media Studios recently hosted a party for actors and actresses for their Emmy-nominated Awards. Upcoming events will include celebrity birthday parties and MTV’s premiere party.
The house has already been the venue for parties for R& B star Chris Brown and rapper Nick Cannon.
LG hopes the house could become an oasis for celebrities in Hollywood, who are tired of being chased by ``paparazzi,’’ with additional offerings such as custom menu, bar, car service and even a celebrity chef.
LG, however, said it has not yet been confirmed who will be the next guests for a party at the house.
