A total of 30 employees of Hana Financial Group have completed its special program aimed at fostering digital professionals on financial data and better serving customers, the banking group said Sunday.

The company said 30 trainees successfully mastered the second edition of its Data eXpert Program (DxP) launched in June 2019 to handle the evolving digital banking industry.

The latest round of the program began in August and lasted for almost 12 weeks. Participants carried out individual and team projects helping them build expertise in collecting, formulating, processing, analyzing and estimating data relevant to banking and other businesses run by Hana Financial Group.

The program's curriculum was developed by professors teaching big data, artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging IT disciplines.

“The program was extremely beneficial as trainees were able to implement academic knowledge in the business field,” Hana Financial Group said.

The trainees were divided into eight teams, with members of the top and the runner-up teams honored with awards from Chairman Ham Young-joo.

“The use of data and AI has become more important than ever as the group is prioritizing financial services oriented to customers and frontline sales,” the chairman said. “The group will continue to spare no efforts to nurture digital-minded employees on our path to maximize convenience for customers.”

The chairman has been pushing to bolster digital finance after taking office in March 2022, such as leading a co-partnership with Google Korea, Amazon Web Services Korea, Microsoft Korea and SK Telecom in October of the same year to nurture university students.
