Bad weather slows Sewol body search

Only 172 of them were rescued and 29 bodies remain uncovered.Although the high wind-high wave alert in the waters of the area was lifted as of 7 a.m. Monday, the conditions remained unfavorable to resume the search operations, according to the joint team of civilian and military divers.A total of 128 divers will work in shifts to mainly search convenience facilities comprising singing rooms, a dining hall and a lounge on the fourth and fifth decks.The divers were hoping to resume the operations in the afternoon."The team is mulling entering the multi-person suite on the fourth floor of the left side of

By Ko Dong-hwanKim Ho-wol, a noted public relations (PR) expert, has come under fire for his Facebook comments many found as a distasteful attack on the families of the victims of the recent ferry disaster.In his posting, Kim, a professor at Hongik University’s graduate school for advertisement and PR, blasted the family members for attempting to hold a rally in front of Cheong Wa Dae to protest the way the government has been handling the tragic accident.The Sewol ferry sank off the waters of the southwestern island of Jindo on April 16 with 476 people aboard. Only 172 of them were rescued with the remainder confirmed as dead or missing.Critics have accused the government of bungling its emergency response and failing to properly enforce regulations that would have stopped the ship’s operators from putting profit before safety.``Was the president the owner of the Sewol ship? She was waiting for her father at a joint memorial altar in Ansan Hwarang Park a day before, but he didn’t take her calls.Police searched areas in the vicinity of the altar, and found him under a tree making a noose with his belt. He was apparently trying to hang himself.On Friday, another bereaved family member was spotted unconscious at home with signs of drug overdose. The person was taken to a hospital and was reportedly in normal condition.It’s been confirmed he had posted on an online community reserved for families of the victims that he will wish well for all from the world beyond.

Hwa Deok-hyun of the Labor Party, an incumbent lawmaker aiming for his second term. The 4.8-square-meter office opened in Chwa-dong, Busan, next to a stationery store inside an apartment complex.Rep. North Koreans interested in skin care

A growing number of North Korean people have begun to take interests in skin care.Chosun Sinbo, the mouthpiece of pro-North Korean organization “Chochongnyeon,” reported Wednesday a variety of cosmetic products like sunblock creams and books introducing organic food good for health have been introduced in the North.“Such products and food are drawing increasing interests from North Korean women,” it said.For instance, a makeup brand “Eunhasoo” (Milky Way) put 10 kinds of cosmetics mainly for caring skins from ultraviolet rays this year alone.“The makeup products are verified so that the users can utilize in various circumstances at office, outdoor, mountains and beach,” it said.It also said it has been the policy of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to develop various kinds of makeup goods.Experts said the emergence of Kim’s wife Ri Sol-ju has also been impact the recent trend toward cosmetics and health food in the reclusive nation.
