Jung Ha-jong of Yonhap News Agency has won the Grand prize at The Korea Press Photographers Association (KPPA) 52nd annual news photography awards.
Jung won the award for his photo of anti-U.S. activist Kim Ji-jong attacking U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Mark Lippert at a breakfast forum inside the Sejong Center last March 5.
The Korea Times photographer Shim Hun-chul won runner-up prize in the “People in the News” category, with his photo“The Last Bow,” showing late Keangnam Enterprises Chairman Sung Woan-jong.
The award-winning photographs will be exhibited at COEX in southern Seoul from May 3-15.
