Alcohol consumption is related to eye color, a study shows.
According to the University of Vermont, people with blue eyes are likely to drink more.
Researchers studied 1,263 alcohol addicts in the United States.
“We still don’t know the reason,” the Daily Mail quoted researcher Professor Dawei Li as saying.
But the data did reveal that the genetic components that determine eye color lined up along the same chromosome as genes related to excessive drinking.
“This suggests an intriguing possibility _ that eye color can be useful in the clinic for alcohol dependence diagnosis,” doctoral student Arvis Sulovari was quoted as saying.
