SIx workers were killed after a wastewater storage tank exploded in Ulsan, southeast of Seoul, Friday morning.
Fire authorities said the blast happened at the Hanhwa Chemical factory at 9:16 a.m. Rescue workers and equipment were sent to the scene.
A factory guard, surnamed Choi, 52, was injured, fire officials said.
The workers were welding when the tank exploded, according to the Korea Gas Safety Corporation.
Police and factory officials are investigating.
