Five college students bashed a schoolmate and kept him locked up for three days, police said.

Gyeongsan police said the students, from a university in the city, were arrested for allegedly beating the victim, surnamed Kim, 20, with their fists and hangers last month.

They committed the alleged crimes over three days from June 14 at the university dormitory, according to police.

“Unless you want to be beaten up, you have to buy us fried chicken,” police quoted the group as saying.

The five had allegedly prevented Kim from using the bathroom and covered his mouth with a wet towel. Kim was then beaten and his body taped, police said.

They also took his debit card and spent some 100,000 won ($88), according to police.

They were arrested after Kim’s parents reported them to police on June 18.
