Comedian Yoo Jae-suk will host a cable channel TV show for the first time.
“Yoo will host a JTBC pilot program scheduled to air in August,” the cable TV network said Tuesday. “Details of the program have yet to be decided. The only thing confirmed is that Yoo will host the program.”
Yoo, better known by his nickname, “MC of the nation,” has only appeared in programs on the nation’s four terrestrial channels.
JTBC said PD Yoon Hyun-jun might have had a great influence on Yoo’s decision.
“Yoo has been in a close relationship with Yoon for a long time. Maybe Yoo made the decision out of his trust and faith toward Yoon’s ability to make a fresh program.”
The comedian-MC debuted in the KBS Comedian Festival in 1991 and has earned nationwide popularity for his wit and decent image.
He has hosted many TV programs, including comedy variety show “X-Man” and “Infinite Challenge.”
