Drinking orange juice every day is good for the brain, research shows.

According to researchers at Reading University in the U.K., it takes about two months to improve memory, speech and reaction times by about 10 percent.

The scientists asked 37 people to drink 500ml of juice, around two glasses, each day for eight weeks.

Natural substances in oranges, including flavonoids, are known to boost memory by activating signaling pathways in the hippocampus, part of the brain associated with learning and storing information.

"Small, easily administered changes to the daily diet, such as eating more flavonoid-rich fruits and vegetables, have the potential to benefit brain health substantially," Doctor Daniel Lamport told the Daily Mail.
