Tokyo tops with solo travelers

Tokyo is the favourite destination of solo travelers.

According to travel agency Interpark Tour, Tokyo attracted 18 percent of votes, followed by Osaka (13 percent) and Hong Kong (7 percent).

“People in their 20s and 30s don’t hesitate to spend money on travelling as it’s what makes them happy and satisfied and keeps them going,” said a company spokeswoman.

The top 20 cities obtained about 72 percent of votes.

London was 14th, Paris 15th and Prague 18th.

Solo travelers preferred places with good transport, accommodation and shopping over vacation facilities, the company said.

Men’s favourite spots were Macao (66 percent) and Bangkok (65 percent) and women’s were Fukuoka (58 percent) and Osaka (57 percent).
