Koreans are at bottom of an international list when it comes to reading when they stay at hotels.
According to hotel reservation site Hotels.com, less than a quarter of Koreans (19 percent) read in their hotel beds. The survey was conducted on about 25,000 people around the world under the topic “Want to do what in a hotel bed.”
Coming out on top in reading were the Swedish with 60 percent, followed by the Danish (58 percent), the Finnish and the Norwegians (56 percent).
The low ranking group includes Mexicans and people from Hong Kong with 25 percent and 27 percent, respectively.
The survey also found out that Koreans would rather watch television in hotel beds than reading. About 77 percent and 45 percent of them said they would watch television or surf the web.
Considering the country’s highest smartphone ownership, the rate has turned out to be lower than China (80 percent) and Thailand (74 percent).
About 31 percent admitted to eating in their hotel bed, and 45 percent said that they wish to try the room service menu without worrying about time or money.
