A man who filmed himself having sex with his consenting teenage girlfriend has again been found not guilty of charges relating to the incident.

On appeal, the Supreme Court of Korea maintained the original ruling for the man, surnamed Kim, 27, who used his mobile phone to film himself having sex with his girlfriend, surnamed Park, 17, at a motel in 2012.

The court said Kim did not sexually harass or exploit Park and did not distribute or profit from the video. Kim erased the video at Park’s request.

The court determined Kim did not infringe the Protection of Children and Adolescents against Sexual Exploitation Act.

But it maintained an original sentence imposed on Kim of two years and six months’ jail, suspended for three years, on charges of threatening Park with a weapon and raping her twice after discovering she slept with another man.
