National Ebola emergency support team members have emerged from three weeks of quarantine to speak of their experience in Sierra Leone.
Shin Hyung-Shik, 51, led the seven-member team that included two military academy officers and four women from the national military nurse academy.
“We are thankful as average citizens of the country for such a special and meaningful experience,” Shin said.
The Korean squad worked with an Italian NGO called “Emergency” at an Ebola treatment center in Sierra Leone for a month from December 27. They looked after up to 34 people.
Team members said it was not just a physical disease they had to watch out for, but it was also a mental fight.
One team member had to be sent to Germany after accidentally having needle contact.
