Former Coko Entertainment co-CEO Kim Joon-ho said he received threatening text messages from the wife of the company’s other co-CEO Kim Woo-jong, who fled to the U.S last year after allegedly embezzling hundreds of millions of won in company funds.
Comedian Kim Joon-ho revealed the text messages he got from her on Dec. 4 in an interview with the SBS TV show “One Night of TV Entertainment,” which aired Wednesday.
“If you attack Kim Woo-jong through mass media once again, it will make all of us die together,” she texted him.
“I request you to think back to the moment when we established Coko Entertainment, she said, “please make things go in the right direction.”
The entertainment company declared bankruptcy on Jan. 24, failing to deal with the crisis following Kim Woo-jong’s embezzlement.
Kim had reportedly suffered financial hardships from his restaurant business before fleeing to the U.S. last November.
Coko workers haven’t been paid for months, and they filed a complaint with the police on Dec. 18.
