Final contingent of draftees

Listen

New draftees salute before being admitted to the 306 Reserve Battalion in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, Tuesday. The battalion, established in 1952 in Busan, provides military orientation training for four days before conscripts are deployed to subordinate units of the 3rd ROK Army. The battalion is scheduled to be disbanded on Dec. 31. In Korea, all able-bodied men over 20 are required to serve in the military for about two years under the country’s mandatory conscription system. / Yonhap
