A man in Daegu has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend after she broke up with him, Daegu Police said, according to Yonhap News Agency.
The 37-year-old man, only identified by his surname Roh, broke into the house of his girlfriend’s family Saturday night with a weapon, authorities said.
Authorities said the man killed the woman by striking her with a blunt weapon in the chest and back.
The woman's parents were in the house and attempted to keep the man in the house after reporting the incident to the police.
The man ran away instantly, but was caught Sunday near his house.
"The couple had been dating for seven months, and…he held a grudge against her for the break-up," police were quoted as saying.
