N. Korea launches odd new tourism website

North Korea launched a new webpage titled “DPRK Today” on Monday, introducing various tourist attractions in the nation and the activities of its leader Kim Jong-un.

But the site already has many observers scratching their heads because it includes photos altered with odd computer graphics such as fluorescent sunflowers.

Pictures of Kim's giant construction projects such as the Munsu Water Park are adorned with added rays of light to highlight its "magnificence.”

Yonhap News Agency reported that the purpose of the site is to "attract foreign tourists," despite the fact that its launch comes amid the North's state ban on foreign tourists over Ebola fears.

The website is available only in the Korean language. As of Thursday it was accessible from the South Korean servers, whereas other North Korean sites are typically blocked by authorities.
