Misaeng star shows what a $30 dress can do

The Korean actress who gained fame through her lead role in the popular series "Misaeng” wore a dress at an awards ceremony that made her name the most searched keyword on Naver on Thursday.

Kang So-ra, 24, wore an off-the-shoulder lace dress with long sleeves at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong on Wednesday, showing off not just her slim figure but also that a low-priced dress can have class.

Netizens found Kang's dress on the website of H&M, a specialty retailer of private label apparel (SPA), known for trendy collections sold at affordable prices.

Her $30 dress received much attention online after Kang spoke in four languages when announcing the winner of the best male and female artist awards.

Various news outlets, including the Chosun Ilbo said Kang had “turned a low-priced dress into a luxury item" and praised the actress for her frugal decision.
