A performer in a newly-formed boy group apologized Monday after telling fans to “stop talking” during a performance in Seoul over the weekend.
Nam Tae-hyun of Winner, a boy group formed this year by YG Entertainment, made the remark Saturday during a concert at Olympic Park that also included better-known acts Psy, Ailee, Girl’s Day and Sista.
The incident occurred after the group’s first song, as bandleader Kang Seung-yoon was addressing the audience. It was then that Nam made his outburst, reportedly yelling, “We are talking here!”
Nam issued an apology through YG Entertainment on Monday.
“It was only meant as a casual comment,” Nam’s statement said. “I apologize if I somehow came off as intimidating.
“I was careless. I realize how significant each word I say is to the public. I will keep that in mind from now on.”
