Yu-na breaks up with hockey player boyfriend: report

Olympic gold medalist figure skater Kim Yu-na and her hockey player boyfriend, Kim Won-joong, have broken up, a celebrity news site claimed this week.

Star News cited numerous sources in reporting the split, but did not say when the breakup occurred.

The retired 24-year-old “Ice Queen,” now the honorary ambassador for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, had previously acknowledged her relationship with Kim Won-joong, after photos of the couple circulated on the Internet.

The 30-year-old hockey player Kim recently came under fire for visiting a Thai massage parlor while serving his military duty in June. On his way back from the parlor, Kim was involved in a car accident with two others.

The two first met each other at Korea University, where both were students, and had trained at the national training center in Taeneung, northeastern Seoul.
