An elementary schoolboy’s father found him hanging dead from an Internet cable in Seoul on Thursday.
The boy, 12, whose name has not been released, was found hanging from the cable in Gangbuk-gu at about 8 a.m.
His family had reported him missing the day before after he did not return from an after-school lesson. His father had gone looking for him.
Police confirmed that the boy, who was big for an elementary student, was wearing someone else’s shoes instead of his own fairly new pair.
Police said they had not found a suicide note, nor were there any signs of a struggle that might indicate the boy was murdered.
Investigators are focusing on securing closed circuit television footage of the scene.
