Tying ones’ shoes is something that many of us take for granted. But the task becomes more difficult if you’re carrying an armful of books, for example, or a coffee in one hand and a mobile phone in the other.

Korean outdoor brand Treksta thinks it has the solution: “handless shoes.”

Released yesterday, the new product allows users to tighten and loosen one’s shoes simply with simple motions. Pulling and drag the lower side to tighten; or give a slight push of the heel to loosen it up.

It is expected to be most useful to customers who have their hands full, those who need to keep their hands clean, those carrying babies, or those who often hurt their hands.

“Treksta made an effort to develop new technologies and products while pursuing renovation,” said Kwon Dong-Chil, CEO of Treksta.

“This line of newly-launched shoes combines convenience, sanity and design. We expect this to create a new paradigm in the shoes market.”
