Police on Sunday arrested two college students for spray painting the message “I hate you all” on the National Assembly.
After their arrest, the students claimed the vandalism was part of a school project.
According to Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police, the students surnamed Moon, 25, and Kim, 26, entered the National Assembly ground undetected and wrote the message on the back side of the main building.
However, they were spotted while they were leaving the message and stopped by authorities.
The students claimed they had been assigned to make a commercial that expressed the concept of freedom and that they did not know their actions were a crime.
“We were just doing school assignment,” the student said, according to police.
