Novelist Lee Wae-soo diagnosed with cancer

Korean novelist Lee Wae-soo was diagnosed with stage II stomach cancer, according to a report by Yonhap News Agency on Thursday.
"Lee was at an autograph event on October 19, when he didn't feel well and was sent to the nearest hospital that he normally goes to," the acquaintance was quoted in the report.
His conditions did not get any better, and he was moved to a bigger hospital, the Chuncheon Sungshim Hospital, a day after.
"I am starting a long fight against this disease, the doctor's diagnosis was at a more serious state than I had thought it would be," Lee wrote on his Twitter account.
"I pray for a day to come back and freely communicate with everyone," he wrote.
Many sent messages of support, however, others did not. Lee also included in his post that he had sued those that wrote offensive comments in reply to his health condition.
"I plan on filing a civil and criminal suit towards not only the writer of the comments, but also the administrator of the Internet site," Lee wrote.
He is scheduled to have an operation on Oct. 29.
