Seo Tae-ji's interview with journalist gets big ratings

Rock icon Seo Tae-ji’s one-on-one interview with journalist Sohn Seok-hee on Monday provided a bump in ratings for JTBC’s evening interview segment “News Room.”

The interview garnered a rating of over two percent, higher than last week’s 1.5 percent.

The conversation delved into Seo’s musical career rather than his private life. This contrasted with his earlier appearance on KBS talk show “Happy Together,” which disappointed some viewers for failing to touch on substantive subjects.

Sohn may have had this in mind during his own interview, keeping the singer engaged with humor while extracting interesting answers.

After five years of hiatus, Seo recently released his ninth studio album “Quiet Night.”
