A court in South Gyeongsang Province has sentenced a man to jail for dousing his ex-lover with gasoline and attempting to burn her alive.
The Ulsan District court on Thursday sentenced the 36-year-old man to 18 months behind bars for the August crime.
The man had gone to his ex-girlfriend’s bar and splashed her with gasoline before trying to set her aflame with a lighter. Police arrived at the scene, however, foiling his attempt.
There were 11 people in the bar including customers and employees.
The court said the Kim had been harassing his ex-lover for some time.
