Lawmaker caught looking at lewd photos

Listen

Rep. Kwon Sung-dong

A ruling party lawmaker was spotted Wednesday scrolling through photos of bikini-clad women on his phone during a parliamentary audit meeting, according to Yonhap News Agency.

Rep. Kwon Sung-dong of the conservative Saenuri Party was caught on camera looking at the photos during the audit of the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Kwon said the incident was “totally by accident.” However, lawmakers of the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD) took him to task.

Kwon “seems like a layperson and very unprofessional,” Rep. Eun Soo-mi of the NPAD said.

After Kwon complained about the remark, the NPAD lawmaker replied, “I did not mean to criticize him, but I apologize for directly expressing my thoughts.”
