PyeongChang grows monster pumpkin

The PyeongChang County Agricultural Technology Center produces a mammonth pumpkin.

The PyeongChang County Agricultural Technology Center had succeeded in producing a mammoth pumpkin that weighs in at 127 kilograms.

The center has been experimenting with techniques to grow large pumpkins since 2010, with the goal of making pumpkins a regional specialty.

After a seed selection process, the lab selected the seeds to make 10 giant pumpkins this year, weighing between 70 and 127 kilograms.

The center hopes the pumpkins can be incorporated in marketing campaigns for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
