Asiad marred by sex harassment charges

Police busted two Palestinian national football players participating in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games for sexually harassing a Korean staffer, Incheon police said Wednesday.

According to the police, the footballers approached the 25-year-old woman in a laundry room inside the Athlete’s Village on Monday around noon and asked to take a picture together. The police say they used to the opportunity to touch her waist and breast areas.

The Palestinians admitted their misconduct during the police investigation. The police said they were sent back to the village after the initial investigation but will be transferred to prosecutors.

A similar incident occurred Tuesday when the police busted a 38-year-old Iranian equipment manager for sexually harassing a 21-year-old female Korean volunteer.
