Choi Sang-hwan, deputy commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard, leaves the Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office early Wednesday after being grilled for hours over his alleged ties to Undine Marine Industries, a private salvage firm. Choi is facing allegations that he exerted influence to help the firm secure state-initiated salvage and rescue contracts when maritime accidents occurred.
