Police probe hospital over endoscopy death

Busan police are investigating the death of a woman on Tuesday afternoon after an endoscopy at a local clinic the day before.

The victim, 61, who was anesthetized, never regained consciousness. When she developed breathing problems and a weakening pulse, doctors transferred her to a general hospital, where she died.

Police are questioning medical staff at the clinic and hospital to investigate whether the endoscopy was conducted safety. An autopsy is planned.
