Kim Jong-un's 'executed' ex-girlfriend alive and well on Pyongyang TV

Listen

An ex-girlfriend of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un who was rumored to have been executed by a firing squad last year, has appeared on Pyongyang’s state television, apparently alive and well.

Hyun Song-wol, a member of the Moranbong Band, was seen delivering a speech at the national art workers rally in Pyongyang on Friday, praising her leader and former boyfriend for his efforts to help the country’s artists.

Several newspapers in Japan and South Korea reported in September last year that Hyun and members of the Eunhasu Orchestra had been executed for taping themselves having sex.
