Fake monk goes on rape spree

Police booked a man, 64, for rape and theft using his fake monk appearance he fashioned himself, according to JoongAng Ilbo Wednesday.

The man’s first crime occurred on April 8 at around 7:30 p.m. after he drank at a bar run by a female host, 56, in Busan. He stole 1.4 million won from the parlor and threatened the host with sex.

His follow-up crime happened two days later. He visited another bar and sexually harassed its host, demanding money. The report said he also hit a cop who came to the bar after receiving a report.

Busan Saha police arrested the man on charges of theft Wednesday. He had served prison terms before committing the crimes, the report added.
