
More than half of wage workers in Korea are receiving monthly paycheques with less than two million won.

Statistics show that more than half of wage workers in Korea earn less than 2 million won a month, according to JoongAng Ilbo Wednesday.
Statistics Korea released Wednesday a special report which revealed about 50.7 percent of a total 18.5 million wage workers in the nation earn below the amount commonly believed as an average.
Some 2.4 million workers (12.9 percent) earn less than 1 million won a month, and nearly 7 million workers (37.8 percent) earn between 1 and 2 million won.
About 4.5 million (24.3 percent) earn between 2 and 3 million won, 2.4 million (12.8 percent) between 3 and 4 million, and 2.3 million (12.2 percent) 4 million won or more.
