Families of the Sewol ferry tragedy are returning to Jindo after finding their children’s bodies to encourage those still waiting for their missing children, said Nocut News on Wednesday.
It has been two weeks after the incident. Amongst retrieving the corpses, the number of missing passengers dropped to a two-digit number from the former three digits. Accordingly, there are now only 50 or less family members still waiting for their loved ones.
Jindo indoor gymnasium, a gathering place for all the family members of Sewol ferry’s missing passengers, is getting empty.
However, those who had left the gymnasium after finding their beloved are returning back to the gymnasium to cheer up the remaining families even after the funeral.
“I wanted to pray for them but I thought it was better to go see them in person rather than do nothing,” said Ms. Go, who went through her daughter’s funeral after finding her daughter’s corpse last week.
Another parent who found their child’s corpse Tuesday promised to return back to the gymnasium. “I promise to come back here to cheer up and share the sorrow with the remaining family members,” the parent said.
