World's first commercialization of 5G due in 2020

The government is aiming for the world’s first commercialization of 5G mobile communications in 2020, of which service is a thousand times faster than Long Term Evolution (LTE).

The government expects that $1.5 billion in joint public-private investment on the commercialization of 5G mobile communications will create a $331 trillion market by 2017. This will subsequently bring a $552 trillion effect on production inducement.

According to the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, 5G mobile communications will make it possible to download a 800MB movie only in less than a second which currently takes 40 seconds with the latest communications technology, LTE-A.
