"Human Embryonic Stem Cells Derived by Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer" is a paper co-written by Shoukhrat Mitalipov, a professor in Oregon, and published in the Cell magazine which under investigation for plagiarism.
According to a report by paper review website Pubpeer, at least four images published in the paper were repetitiously used or the sizes were altered against general practices.
The case recalls similar allegations against Korean scientist Hwang Woo-suk of Seoul National University in 2005 in which his papers on stem cell research for.
The allegations were made by a research team at Yonsei University and Pubpeer.com reportedly confirmed that they are all true.
