“What do you think about single women who remain so for the rest of their lives?”
asked marriage consultant company Bienaller and date and marriage information service company Feeling You as part of a research.
Among the 604 people (302 men and 302 women) who responded, 67.2 percent of the men and 76.5 percent the women said that it is better to get married.
Of them, 34.4 percent of the men and 51 percent of the women answered that it’s better to keep working after getting married.
Also, 32.8 percent of the men and 25.5 percent of the women said it’s better to get married and lead a normal life.
Women were more against the idea of being single than men.
The research showed that 32.8 percent of the men and 23.5 percent of the women said it was okay to be single.
Similarly, 21.9 percent of the men and 8.9 percent of the women said single women look cool.
In addition, 10.9 percent of the men and 14.6 percent of the women said that marriage is not necessary.
When asked, “Why do you consider women choosing work over marriage not appropriate?”
40 percent of the men said that they might be lonely.
Another 24.8 percent said lack of security is the reason and 15.1 percent cited financial instability.
Interestingly enough, 13.8 percent said they wanted a life without children.
Women, however, felt insecure about how they are viewed. Some 36 percent of the women said social stigma against single women is harsh.
Another 28.9 percent worried that they might get lonely later in life.
Financial instability and lack of security were among other reasons some of them would seek marriage even in their older years.
