There is endless controversy following the airing of an interview on broadcaster MBC with a terrorist who bombed Korean Air 858 26 years ago.
In a program entitled “The life of Mayumi, the confessions of Kim Hyun-hee,” which was a replacement for the usual “100-minute debate”
Tuesday, the woman talked about how a telecast 10 years ago did not actually deliver the accurate facts about the incident.
She also talked about how she could not understand that some people were saying that she was not her actual self and that she was living under disguise.
“If I am not Kim Hyun-hee herself, it could mean that South Korea is a terrorist country for blowing up that plane,” she said, admitting once again that she was responsible for the fatal bombing of the jetliner.
On the part of the MBC union, it issued a statement, saying that it makes no sense to carry a story about a woman who is responsible for the death of 115 innocent lives.
Lee Yong-ma, in charge of public relations at MBC, said in an interview CBS radio that Kim showed no sign of remorse, only to say she did not what the fuss was about since she was instigator.
