Women find happiness after divorce

What about the women who make their way back to single life (they are called “dolsing” in Korea for returning to single life)?

According to a survey of 530 divorcees by Only You, a matrimonial information company, the results of which were posted on the Internet, 43.4 percent of the men said they ran into a lot of problems after their divorce while 37.7 percent of the women said life has taken on a better meaning.

Some 20.8 percent of the male divorcees said they became more pessimistic and 17.4 percent said they were doing things that they had never done in their lives.

About 22.6 percent of the women divorcees said they are more keen on fate while 17.4 percent said they were dedicating more time to religious activities.

Only You officials said the findings were out of the ordinary.

One thing that was common was the problems that men and women faced in terms of the custody of their children and that they had to a lot more house chores after the divorce.

Asked if they were happy about they decision to part their ways, 51.7 percent of the men said they should have tried harder to keep the marriage while 41.1 percent of the women said they should have done it sooner.
