
An Indian man in his 30s is on the international news. The Punne Mirror reported that Datta Phuge who is a mortgage lender in Pimpri Chinchwad, India received gold shirt which was custom-made.
Datta spent 1.27 crore (10 million) rupees ($230,000) for this special shirt to wear this on New Year’s festivals. Fifteen goldsmiths were working for 18 hours a day over 15 days using 22-karat gold to make the shirt which weighed 3.25 kilograms (kg).
This shirt was decorated with six Swarovski buttons and a gold belt. He likes sparkling gems. So he has 10 gold necklaces, six bracelets and 25 rings, weighing 10kg. He said “The gold shirt is one of my dreams.”
Datta commented about security, saying “I have my own security system and I am always with bodyguards.”
He also said, “People spend money on buying a car and going on a trip, but the thing that I want to have is gold and the investment will keep appreciating.”
The Punne Mirror reported that he has a wife, Seema Phuge. However international news reported that the reason why he made the shirt was for hitting on women.
Many international netizens showed their interests and commented “the man did not say that he wanted to seduce women,” “is it possible to wash it using a washing machine?,” “I like gold, too,” “everyone has the right to live how they want,” “the mortgage lender do not even help people in India,” “he wants to receive compensation.”
