Sex addict Danny James had to move out of a town in North West England because he had slept with every girl in it.

Press reports said the tattoo artist, who has bedded more than 500 women, turned to therapy to cure his urges.

Danny, 27, spent hundreds of pounds looking for lovers after running out of ladies to squire in the seaside resort of Lytham St. Annes in Lancashire.

"I could be spending hundreds of pounds a night partying and taking women back to hotels."

Danny went to psychotherapist Steven Pope to help him beat his addiction.

Danny said: "I am no top golfer but addiction to sex has seen me ruin relationships and my business.

"People treat it like a joke but it's a real problem."

Therapist Steven Pope said: "Sex addiction can be a problem for both sexes. I saw one intelligent woman of 31 who had 127 partners in six months.

27살의 제임스는 타투전문가로 "이 지역에서 나와 잠자리를 하지 않은 여성이 없다"며 "여성을 찾기 위해 나이트 클럽을 전전하는 등 온갖 수단과 방법을 동원했고 소비한 돈도 어마어마하다"고 말했다.

제임스의 이런 섹스중독증은 더 이상 일상생활을 할 수 없게 만들어 결국 그는 치료를 받기에 이르렀다.

그는 "사람들은 섹스 중독증을 가볍게 생각하지만 나에게는 정말 심각한 문제다"라며 "치료 효과가 별로 없을 뿐 아니라 이것 때문에 내 직업을 잃고 모든 생활이 망가졌다"고 심정을 토로했다.

병원관계자는 "섹스 중독증은 성별에 관계없이 남녀 모두에게 큰 문제가 된다"며 "6개월 동안 무려 137명의 남성을 상대한 전문직 여성도 있었다"고 전했다.
