How much clothes do kids need?

Ellen, left, and Ann have fun exploring all the different styles in their dresser. / Courtesy of Jane Han By Jane HanThis past weekend, I almost suffocated.I almost suffocated from my children’s ginormous and monstrous pile of clothes that seemed to have taken on a life of its own and reproduced like mushrooms. Seriously, where did all these clothes come from?I’ll get to that later. Here in Texas, it still gets pretty hot during the day, but mornings and afternoons are chilly. So I decided to take on one of the most dreaded tasks of the year ― the seasonal wardrobe rotation.Yes, that time of the year when I put away all the light and thin summer clothes and all the thick and heavy clothes are awakened from their long sleep stuffed away somewhere deep in the closet. The mere thought of the work involved felt something like being assigned to write a 30-page research paper.Having three kids means more clothes. How can herbal medicine be of help?

Ko Jeong-min By Ko Jeong-min Acupuncture is administered almost everywhere around the globe these days and its natural and non-invasive properties make it more preferable for various kinds of disorders from a sprained ankle to insomnia. The growing interest in acupuncture has also triggered interest in herbs as medicine. Herbal medicine is more sought-after because of its compositions from nature.Patients who have experienced the effects of herbal medicine say they have escaped from chronic pain and discomfort and are living new lives.Herbal medicine is not just a combination of a number of herbs that are said to be good for joint, throat, memory, and other ailments; the theory of how a certain number of herbs are combined in a prescription to act together, and why two patients having an identical diagnosis in Western medicine can be prescribed with different herbal medicine is what herbal medicine is really about. Herbal medicine exerts dramatic effects when prescribed by a qualified practitioner after a thorough consultation with the patient. Safety issues are mostly

By Janet Shin It was recently announced that Bob Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature for “having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.” Apparently, the public wasn’t anticipating it, not because they didn’t like Bob Dylan but because he wasn’t on any possible lists. Reading his saju first brought me the words of freedom and contemplation, as his song “Blowing in the Wind” says.  Bob DylanHow many roadsmust a man walk downBefore you call him a manHow many seasMust a white dove sailBefore she sleeps in the sand..How many timesCan a man turn his headAnd pretend that he just doesn’t seeThe answer, my friend,Is blowing in the windThe answer is blowing in the wind How many timesMust a man look upBefore he can see the skyHow many yearsMust one man haveBefore he can hear people cry The day master in this saju is yang water, which represents a big ocean. But being born in the month of fire, the ocean is not selfish but sacrificing its energy for others, for the broad pu

Former PM urges Christians' efforts for unification

By Park Jin-haiThe missionary radio station Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) Korea held a forum on the unification of Korea, Tuesday. At the 41st Far East Forum under the theme “Christian Responsibilities for the Reunification of Korea” in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, former Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik gave a special lecture on what the faithful should do to unite the two Koreas into one nation.   Kim said the fast and sudden unification of Germany would not have been possible if the church had not been at the center.“The biggest locomotive for the German unification has come from the Monday demonstrations, which were also called a religious protest. It began with the Christians in East Germany leading Monday prayers and then taking to the street to conduct peaceful political protests against the government,” he said.“Hundreds grew into hundreds of thousands… German unification proceeded, gathering momentum at an unrelenting rate, breaking down the Berlin Wall in 1989 and finally bringing unification to Germany the follo
