Psy remains No. 2 on Billboard for fifth weekNEW YORK (Yonhap) -- For a fifth straight week, South Korean rapper Psy remained at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard's main chart, updated Wednesday, once again topped by Maroon 5's "One More Night." The 34-year-old entertainer rose to global fame when his song "Gangnam Style" featuring his funny horse-riding dance moves went viral in July on YouTube, drawing more than 530 million views. But he's yet to carry out his famous pledge to perform shirtless if he tops the Billboard's Hot 100 Chart as Maroon 5's "One More Night" has stayed at No. 1 on the chart for six consecutive weeks. "The race for No. 1 was again fairly close, as approximately 2,000 points separate the songs, with each title declining by less than 1 percent in overall chart points," Billboard said in a news release on Wednesday. It said a similar gap separated the songs last week, while just 700 and 500 points made the difference two and three weeks ago, respectively. Filipino seeking exchanges with Korea finds limits as usualMANILA (Yonhap) -- Helweena Sadorra is a self-acknowledged fanatic of "Hallyu," or the Korean Wave, the popular culture from South Korea that has permeated the entire globe from Asia to America to Europe and the Middle East. So when she landed a job at the Korean Cultural Center in Manila, she had high hopes of promoting active exchanges between South Korea and her home country. She quit her job last month and says the exchanges are lopsided, and there is too much of a business side to Hallyu. Sadorra was a student at the University of the Philippines, majoring in Philippine Studies, in 2005 when the manager of her dormitory she was sharing the room with at the time introduced her to Korean dramas on television. It was when the Korean Wave was gaining momentum in Southeast Asia, where Hallyu still has an especially large fan base. "That started my curiosity," she said. "I watched a lot, over 100 telenovelas since I got hooked into it in 2005," said Sadorra, now 29. Three years later, she boarded a plane to Korea, began studying at Korea University of Technology and EducationOct 25, 2012

The show was organized by several South Korean artists operating in Paris, including mime artist Kim Won and installation artist Lee Seo, with support from the Korean Cultural Center in France, to take advantage of the French people's rising interest in Korean music and culture. "We thought it was a good opportunity to introduce a variety of cultural content from Korea and came to push for Kang's performance as the first project for this," Lee told Yonhap News Agency by phone.
