Ex-diplomat assumes presidency of KOICA

Courtesy of KOICA By Kang Seung-woo Chang Won-sam, a career diplomat, has been sworn in as the president of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), stressing the need to expand official development assistance (ODA) and carry out strategic development cooperation in tandem with the nation's foreign policy. His inauguration ceremony took place, Monday, at the KOICA headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Chang, a law graduate of Seoul National University, joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1984, where he served in key posts, including director general for Northeast Asian Affairs and senior coordinator for bilateral trade.
