Courtesy of SK hynixBy Baek Byung-yeulSK hynix has started mass production of its new PE8110 E1.S solid-state drive (SSD) targeting the enterprise SSD market, the chip maker said Thursday.After completing a self-certification process in March, the company will begin providing the new product to its customers starting next month.The PE8110 E1.S is based on the company's 128-layer NAND flash memory technology. More layers mean better capacity with enhanced bit density.Compared to its previous product PE6110, which is based on 96-layer NAND, the new product has 88 percent faster data reading and 83 percent faster data writing speeds, SK hynix said.“The new product can store a 4-gigabyte full HD movie in a second.
