Iga Swiatek advanced to the final of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Seoul on Saturday.
The top seed from Poland handled Maya Joint of Australia 6-0, 6-2 in the semifinals of the Korea Open at Olympic Park Tennis Center, hours after beating Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic 6-0, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
All four quarterfinal matches had been postponed from Friday due to rain and were rescheduled for Saturday afternoon, with the winners forced to play their semifinal matches Saturday evening.
Swiatek, a six-time Grand Slam singles winner, will face No. 2 seed from Russia, Ekaterina Alexandrova, in Sunday's final.
Alexandrova defeated Ella Seidel of Germany in the quarterfinals 6-2, 6-3, and then knocked off Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic in the semifinals 6-4, 6-2.
Alexandrova, the 2022 winner here, will try to become the first player to win multiple titles at the lone WTA tournament in South Korea since its inception in 2004.
Swiatek, world No. 2, has beaten 11th-ranked Alexandrova five times in their seven meetings so far, including a 6-3, 6-1 victory in the round of 16 at the U.S. Open earlier this month.
Swiatek has a 24-5 record in WTA tournament finals over her career.
Alexandrova is going for her sixth career WTA title and her first since the Linz Open in February.
