Enjoy KBO, K League at half the price

By Baek Byung-yeul

Baseball and football fans will be able to attend games at half the price on every last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the month, starting this month, the government announced, Wednesday.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that the governing bodies of professional baseball and football ― the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) and K League ― have decided to offer a 50 percent discount off ticket prices.

The two have been offering 50 percent off to families with children since last year, but decided to expand the discount policy as few spectators have benefited from the policy.

The ministry said the discount policy is in line with the government-led Culture Day program, which began in January 2014 in order to let more people easily enjoy cultural and sports events by offering various benefits, including discounts for entrance fees, on the last Wednesday of the month.

Accordingly, KBO fans can purchase outfield seats at half price for the games taking place from July 26 to 28 while K League offers 50 percent off on standard seats for five matches of the second-division K League Challenge from July 27.
